What can you expect when you learn with me?

Everyone is different in both their way of learning and what they want to achieve by learning a particular subject.

At the start of the first session I will ask some questions and carry out an assessment to:

• Make sure I know and understand your goals and expectations for learning Chinese
• Identify the way you learn, and especially assess your language ability

Once I have completed that we can agreee a set of objectives and set up a lesson plan and timetable for learning that accommodates your needs. I will also suggest course material for you, which I can provide if you have difficulty obtaining it yourself.

At the start of the each lesson I will outline the objectives for that lesson and explain what you will learn. In addition to the interaction during the lesson you will have opportunity to give me feedback at the end of the lesson to confirm if the objectives where met.

Learning a language is not a part-time thing. To understand and be understood properly you will need to continually practice. So you can also expect to be given exercies to do in your own time between each lesson, which will then be reviewed in the next lesson.

Additional resources will be also be provided in the form of handouts or recommended links on the Internet to help you progress in your srudies.
